- "کہتے ہو ہم تنہا ہیں، کیسے سمجھائیں تمہیں ہم بھی تو تمہارے بجاۓ کسی اور کی نظر تھے"
Translation:
You say that we are alone, how do I make you understand? We too were looking at someone else, not just you.
- "کبھی بلبلوں سے کہ دل جلتا ہے کبھی شاخوں سے کہ دل جلتا ہے ہم نے جو دیکھا تھا ہم نے سنا تھا وہ سب کچھ جلتے دلوں کا حال تھا"
Translation:
Sometimes the heart burns like a nightingale's song, Sometimes it burns like the branches of a tree. Everything we saw and heard Was the state of burning hearts.
- "گر تم کہو تو چاند بھی دو زخم خور میں نے جو کہا وہ تم سنو تو صحیح"
Translation:
If you say so, even the moon can become wounded.
Listen to what I say, it is true.
- "ہم کو تھی جو خوشی، تو نے بھی زہر پلا دیا اے چاہت، تیری جبین پہ سر دھنوں کہ دیا"
Translation:
The happiness we had, you too poisoned it, Oh desire, we bowed our heads on your forehead.
- "جو نہیں ملا اُس کو مانگ کر خدا سے جو مل گیا ہے اُس کو بھی بکھرانے دو"
Translation:
Ask God for what you haven't found, Let go of what you have found as well.
